Doncaster 2-1 Rotherham: Ben Whiteman penalty secures late Rovers win

Ben Whiteman’s late penalty secured a victory for Doncaster from the South Yorkshire derby as they came from behind to defeat Rotherham 2-1 at the Keepmoat Stadium.
On-loan Jake Hastie had sent the Millers to the break a goal up but veteran James Coppinger equalised until skipper Whiteman struck from 12 metres two minutes as Darren Moore’s guys turned the match on its head.
After a cagey opening, littered with fouls, Millers shield Michael Ihiekwe narrowly headed Ben Wiles’ corner wide, but they had been after 37 minutes.
Kazaiah Sterling gave away some foul on Wiles 25 yards from goal and on-loan Hastie whipped in a that spanned over everybody and conquer on the unsighted Ian Lawlor.
Only former Miller Jon Taylor led Alfie May’s cross before Lewis Price brilliantly saved the volley from just outside the box of Ben Sheaf.
This bout of pressure led with sub Niall Ennis’ work by the byline leading to a cross which was met with initially by Coppinger, who put enough on his chance to conquer Price.
Price was analyzed by taylor from space, together using all the Rotherham keeper conserving from Reece James.
Ennis attracted ahead of the sub-par the penalty that secured the three points after that he had been hauled into the floor by 28, another save out of Cost.
Whiteman confidently sent Price the way from the spot as Doncaster claimed the rights rights.
